Hi all I'm new to this site.... ive just had my PIP assessment via phone call, witch i was very happy about, due to my depression and people skills are very poor, long story short, i never leave my bedroom if i can help it. That's one of my mental heath issues, anyways my phone call was over an hour long, that's fine, i understand you need as much information as possible, even tho im riddled with Arthur ritus, its more my mental health that effects my day to say!! Unfortunately at the start i broke down in absolute tears, the women asked if i was ok, as i asked for a woman not a man and said take a Moment go get a drink of water cup of tea. I feel sick the whole time, then after i gathered myself she seemed passive aggressive towards me, she didn't seem at all bothered about my mental health side of things, I don't eat good im paranoid to go out and i just feel she wasnt interested in that side of things now im hurt and upset, thinking it won't be a good out come for me.. As anyone of you guys have the same problem and still got PIP? Also said it will take around 6-8 weeks to hear my decision. Is that normal?? Any help would be much appreciated. thanks for reading. Sorry its long. I have no faith

Hi @Maybeimcrazy - & welcome to this friendly community. Well done on getting through your PIP phone assessment; it can't have been easy, & I'm sorry it's got you upset. There's really no way of saying what the outcome may be, unfortunately you'll just have to wait. And yes, sadly, decisions are taking on average 8 weeks from an assessment date. Meanwhile we're all here hoping to support you. Many of us have gone through PIP assessments, & know what it can be like.0

Awe thank you so much for the kind words and the update on the waiting time.. I hope you both are week! Is it just a straight letter? Or do they text you like the updates following the assessment period. I'm new to all this. I'm just worried she didn't seem bothered about my mental health over my abilitys so to speak0

You will be informed of the decision by letter
The assessor may not have had to ask about your mental health issues if you gave enough detail and evidence in your application it doesn't mean your issues are being ignored1 -
