How long does decision letter take to arrive?

Hi all,
I had my PIP assessment a month ago and received a payment from PIP on Friday. I've yet to receive the decision letter but from the amount think I've been awarded standard care and no mobility which I'm happy with and won't be appealing.
However I'm a bit worried that the payment was some sort of a mistake and I'm terrified to spend any of it incase they ask for it back. I was wondering how long the letter takes to confirm it's a real payment? I could really do with spending some of the money on a food shop but I'm just too scared to do it until I receive the letter.
Thanks tigerbread

Hi there
The letter can take a while there are huge delays with dwp post
I wouldn't worry about the payment not being OK and go and do your shopping0 -
Hi @tigerbread
Congratulations on the award, as above the letter can sometimes take a little longer than you would hope. I wouldn't worry about the money, but I understand why you have reservations.0
