Annual Conference For Adults with CP

Hi, I’m new here and I have a self interest in searching for something positive to look forward to, so I have a question.
If it was possible to organise, would a weekend annual conference appeal to anyone?
I’m thinking a nice hotel, possibly with a grand spa, in a different part of the UK each year, where adults with CP could meet up in person.

I’m not a hotel owner, or affiliated with anything. I’m a pensioner mum to a lovely but lonely man with moderate CP, and I’m thinking of the future, hoping things improve.

Hi @claudette I've moved your post into our Cerebral Palsy category so it's easier for our members to find. I really appreciate your positive outlook, it is important to gather socially, especially when opportunities to do so have been more limited than usual.
I do know that Scope has it's own CP Network organised by @Richard_Scope, I'm sure he will be happy to tell you more about it, and discuss your query.
There's also on online CP Café, which happens weekly that might be of interest, given how things are at the moment with Covid restricting our non-virtual activities.
Do let me know if we can help any further, don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you Alex, for your help and signposting as I’m new to this group.I am trying to get contacts that might encourage my son to join these things, as everything you are suggesting sounds great to me. I will pass on your info, with kind regards ?1

Hi @claudette
Great to virtually meet you. As my colleague Alex has mentioned I run a virtual cafe in partnership with CP Sport, every two weeks. I also run Scope's special interest group Network CP, which meets monthly. Everything is online at the moment due to the current situation, however, we have found that being virtual events we are able to reach more people.0 -
Great to virtually meet you too, Richard! The virtual cafe and Network CP is exactly what I am looking for. Now that I can pass the info on, I will keep my fingers crossed that my son will sign up. Many thanks.1

@claudette if your son would like to join the Network he needs to email networkcp@scope.org.uk
I'm happy to chat with your son, if he would prefer that, before joining a larger group.0
