PIP application query. It says I need to have help with daily tasks. Is it worth me applying?

Hi there
Am new here and I would love some advice. I'm thinking of applying for PIP. Briefly I have T2 Diabetes (on insulin), have had a heart bypass and have Heart Failure and CKD Stage 5 (not yet on Dialysis but it is inevitable sooner rather than later). For the latter there is no possibility of a transplant due to my heart not being strong enough to withstand op. I've been looking at the PIP eligibility criteria and it seems that you need to have help with various day to day tasks (like washing, preparing food etc - am sure you know the criteria). I am married but my husband works away and is home for 2/3 days every couple of weeks or so - the rest of the time I live alone. I do have a daughter and she helps with bits and bobs but most of the time I'm on my own so I have to do all that stuff as there is no-one else to help and I have to muddle through as best I can. Other 'friends' in a similar situation, though with less health problems (mainly heart related) have applied for PIP and have been awarded it but they live with partners/parents . Is it really worth my while in applying. thanks osn advance.

Hi,PIP isn't about a diagnosis, it's how those conditions affect your ability to carry out daily activity based on the PIP descriptors. It's about the help you need, regardless of whether or not you get that help.More information here. https://pipinfo.net/I'm assuming you are below State Pension age? If not then it would be Attendance Allowance you will need to claim.

It isn't about help you get. It's about the difficulties you have completing the activities to the required standard on the majority of days.GranW1234 said: I've been looking at the PIP eligibility criteria and it seems that you need to have help with various day to day tasks (like washing, preparing food etc - am sure you know the criteria).0 -
Thank you. Yes I'm below pensionable age (am 59 at present and I'm presuming, because of change in pensions that means below 65).0

For someone who is now 59 State Pension age is going to be between 66 and 67 (under current schedule of change).poppy123456 said:State Pension age is 66.

You should have tried to use Aid and failed or explain why you couldn't do so.
