Hi,Although you applied in March last year, which is quite a while, the issue is the assessment appointment went to your previous address so this means an extra long delay. Even without this we have members that are still waiting for a decision after 10 months.Did you not change your address with the assessment providers when you moved? Just changing your address with DWP when waiting for an assessment isn't enough because DWP would not pass on the information to the assessment providers. There are no timescales for assessments but backlogs are huge. Unfortunately, there's nothing more you can do but wait. Hopefully, not too much longer.0

Thank you Poppy, but they said they have to treat as a new clain surley they had all the information from before, what I was trying to understand is how long after the AP gets the file which was beginning Jan does it take to get assessment #/0

Your file was returned to DWP because you didn't attend the assessment. When your file is returned back to the health assessment providers, it goes back into the queue for another assessment. No assessment took place so they have no information. There are no timescales for assessments, it depends on backlog in your area.0

but surely they have it all from when they would of set up the last assesment, I never got any letter or any text its just driving my anxiety up the wall as I dont go out, live in supported accomodation and really cant face a face to face assesment as can have panic attacks x0

Have all of what? They returned your file to DWP because you didn't attend the assessment. As it's now been sent back to them you have to wait in the queue for another assessment. The majority of assessments are by telephone.

Are you receiving any support for your anxiety and panic attacks @Matthepenquin? It sounds as though this might be something that's affecting you quite a bit, as you've mentioned not getting out much. Does living in the supported accommodation help?0

Hello no i have sertraline from docotr but i go out with support woeker about once a week, I just stresseed as bills building up and they trying to help withhave an outburtst but could do with help of the pip, they said the sent me text and letter but nevrer got ti so feel like they just delaying on purpose and this makes me feel they picking on me thay have had it back since 5-01-2022 and still not heard anything, they had all docotrs stuff and this is just adding to my anxiety and I odnt wanna go out as if people ask me if im ok i wanna scream NO ! but feel I would0

Do you find being on the sertraline helps to reduce your anxiety levels @Matthepenquin? It may also be worth exploring the possibility of some talking therapy, if you think that could help. You can speak to your GP about this, or refer yourself for therapy through the IAPT scheme if you live in England.
I'm glad that you're able to go out with your support worker once a week. That sounds helpfulAre they able to support you with the problem of your bills building up too?
I don't think they're trying to delay the process on purpose, or that they're picking on you, but I can understand why you might feel this way. Many people are unfortunately facing long waiting times, so you're certainly not the only one in this difficult position. I know that it's easier said than done, but try not to worry too much about it in the meantime.

They are not delaying anything on purpose. Your file was returned to Dwp and then sent back to the assessment providers. It’s now been put back into the queue for an assessment, it’s as simple as that. When a file is returned they don’t keep anything related to your claim. You could be waiting several more months.0
