How many feel their needs are not met to be able to use a taxi to get around?

Hi everyone. I hope all are well. I can't use any public transport; not only due to claustrophobia but getting lost and balance issues, too. I can only use taxis with no locks on but feel this request is only met by one taxi company and their drivers won't always turn up (without notification) so often just rely on walking places (this can only be local, straight and familiar walks due to a bad sense of direction) thus, miss out on going most places and have a great challenge of attending appointments. Does anyone else here have this same experience or similar? Feel free to also comment below, once you've voted

Yes sometimesI have to have a normal saloon car, and always request this, as I have to get in backwards, lie along the back seat and shuffle along until my feet are in and I can sit up. All of this is not helped by being 4ft 10in and on crutches.
Even when I explain this to the taxi company I still get sent either a minibus, or a high floored vehicle I'd need a ladder to access. To add insult to injury, I'm usually told by the taxi driver that 'other people have no problem getting in!'1 -
Yes sometimesI am a wheelchair user and used to use taxis for virtually every journey. Getting to work, socialising etc. In the last 18 months, the licensing authority in my city has allowed certain black cab drivers an exemption from taking wheelchairs certificates.
The exemption scheme is easily corrupted and certificates faked or exchanged between drivers. It has made getting a taxi near on impossible. As many of the drivers were not keen on 'wheelchair' jobs in the first place. Now all the need is the certificate.

Yes sometimes@TheAlien @Richard_Scope thank you for your votes on this poll and sorry to hear you are both having problems with using the taxi service to get around, too0
