I'm not too familiar with changes to how prescriptions are managed I'm afraid @VANGOUGH. I was able to collect my last prescription from my local pharmacy without any problems, but I know it's not always that smooth!
Would you be able to tell us a little more about the problem you've been having with accessing your medication. What's happening that's stopping you from getting it?0 -
SINCE DECEMBER WHEN CHEMISTS COULD NO LONGER DO IT FOR YOU IT IS VERY DIFFICULTHI TOR$Y CERTAINLY WE HAVE HAD DELAYS IN OUR MED SCRIT GETTING O THE CHEMIST FROM GP EVEN AFTER HANDING HIM IT REGULATIONS CHANGED IN DECEMBER TO STOP CHEMISTS ORDERING THEM FOR US WE ARE TOLD WHERN CALLING THEY ARE PRIORITISING EVERYONE & SOME ARE ONLY A DAY UNTIL THEY RUN OUT SO WE WILL NOT BE SPEEDED UP THERE IS ALSDO A HABBIOT AT THE MOMENT OF THE PRACTICE REJECTING OUR SCRITS AS TO THEM THEY ARE TOO EARLY THIS IS UNSAFE & CAN NOT GO ON0

When I log in to my GP account it has a date when my next prescription can be ordered, and I order them when I have 7 days worth left. It is only my controlled drugs that aren't on repeat and I have to request those separately. The doctor sends my prescription directly to my chemist the same day.
I agree with Teddybear12 if it isn't due you won't get it approved.0 -
Hi @VANGOUGH,
I don’t have much difficulty with this because I order my medication directly from the NHS app and then it gets delivered to my local pharmacy. It doesn’t always get approved by the GP, though, it depends generally on when they’re able to assess you’re likely to need more etc. Obviously, sometimes doses change & there can be miscommunication about that, but it’s definitely worth having a proper conversation with your GP about it if there’s so much trouble. I appreciate that the app isn’t accessible for everyone, either. Have you tried making an appointment?0 -
SINCE DECEMBER WHEN CHEMISTS COULD NO LONGER DO IT FOR YOU IT IS VERY DIFFICULTSince my chemist stopped being able to order my repeat prescriptions I’ve found it harder to get them. I don’t know if the change came from my gp or the pharmacy but they used to order in my repeats for me and I’d get a text each month to collect. Since they stopped I have to try and remember myself which I can’t be relied on for, especially as my gp only accepts in person requests by handing in a form or telephoning asking, no web option. The time I have free to sit in phone queue for hour isn’t when they’re open either
