You should declare in your Universal Credit journal that you care for your wife who has been awarded Daily Living PIP. That will entitle you to the carer element in UC (an extra £163.73/month) - provided you do not already get the LCWRA element of UC yourself. if you have previously told them you look after her you should be able to get the carer element backdated to the date her PIP award starts from. Even if you haven’t previously told them you can try asking them to backdate it.
Has your wife had a Work Capability Assessment for UC?
Whether or not you should challenge the PIP decision entirely depends on whether or not you are confident that your wife should qualify for an enhanced Mobility award. Make sure you fully understand the relevant PIP descriptors before making any decision.

If you look after her for at least 35 hours per week then you will be able to claim Carers element of UC for looking after her. You need to "report a change of circumstances" and report being a carer. Your UC maximum entitlement will increase by £163.73 per month. If her health condition limits her capability to work then she can also report a change of circumstances and report her health condition. She will need to send in fit notes from her GP and go through the work capability assessment. If she's found to have LCWRA then this will entitle her to an extra £343 per month. Her PIP award doesn't automatically entitle her to this. https://www.gov.uk/health-conditions-disability-universal-credit(amounts will increase from April)

HI Calcotti..thank you for the reply. She has had an assessment and they came to the decision that shes not entitled to the LCWRA of Uc,but rather LCW.We did ask for a reconsideration but they stand by their decision.I myself do not receive LCWRA.If i apply for carers allowance on Uc is this different from other carers allowance?0

You can claim Carer’s Allowance if you wish (provided you do not earn more than £128/week from work) but the money will be deducted from your UC so you do not gain financially. Even if you claim CA you would still want to claim the carer element of UC.
The carer element of UC is an extra entitlement within UC itself.pillar48 said:She has had an assessment and they came to the decision that shes not entitled to the LCWRA of Uc,but rather LCW.We did ask for a reconsideration but they stand by their decision.1 -

It can be helpful to be able to budget better because carers allowance can be paid either weekly orr 4 weekly. It also pays class 1 NI credits where as UC only pays class 3. However, you say you work so if your earnings are more than £128 per week, you won't be eligible anyway.
