Hi everyone,
I have just received a copy of my pip report, it’s very confusing, it does state that I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression, gp managed medication, but all the boxes are ticked ‘a’ like there is nothing wrong with me!!!! Her report does state what I can and can’t do, so really not making sense?? Does this mean that any award will be rejected??
any advice please xx

Hello @ang70 and welcome to the community
Thanks for posting your query, I've moved it over into our PIP category.
It's important to remember that the final decision on your PIP application is down to the decision maker, the report that you've received is only a recommendation. There's no way of knowing for certain from the report whether your application will be accepted or rejected.
I know it's easy to assume the worst, but try not to dwell on any 'what ifs', if you can, put the report away somewhere and forget about it for a while. Focus on things that can help distract you from the wait for a decision, use any coping strategies to manage anxiety, and spend time doing things you enjoy.
Whatever the outcome on your decision letter, we'll be here to support you. If you have any questions in the meantime, please let us know.

Hi Alex
thank you ever so much for the reply 😊 , it just doesn’t make sense, One sentence says I can’t go on an unfamiliar journey, but then the box is ticked to say im capable 😳, totally confused x0 -
Box A is zero points against the PIP descriptors but as Alex has correctly advised, the report is the assessment providers opinion based on everything you sent and what you said during the assessment. Before the decision's made the decision maker should look at everything you sent as well as the report.Though they mostly go with the report it has been known for them to go against it.Decision timescales are anything from 2-12 weeks.0

Hi both, if I need to appeal can you help me?0

We will be able to give advice yes. The first step to appeal is the Mandatory Reconsideration (MR)You could also get expert advice from an agency near you. Start here. https://advicelocal.uk/

Hello @ang70 if you do need to that, then of course we can support you. As poppy rightly mentioned, Mandatory Reconsideration is the first step. If you feel like reading information on the process will be helpful right now, then Scope has a really clear overview.
Equally, if you think the information will add to any anxiety or worry you might be feeling, then you can know it's here for you to look at once you know more about the decision on your application.0 -
Brilliant thank you 😊1

Hi Alex, I have been refused PIP, please can you help me with the MR? X0

For the MR request you should put this in writing stating where any why you think you should have scored those points. If you haven't already done this then you should give at least 2 real world incidents of what happened the last time you attempted that activity for each descriptor that applies to you. Include information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.We can't tell you what you should write because no one here knows exactly how your conditions affect you. The only person that knows this is yourself. There's also a form here that you can use. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/challenge-a-decision-made-by-the-department-for-work-and-pensions-dwpTimescales for MR decisions are anything up to 12 weeks, sometimes longer.
