caring and universal credit

So I have today stopped claiming carers element for the effect it had on the cared for persons SDP. I have left a note on my journal explaining the situation and that I will still be caring regardless that I don't receive this carers element as it works out better that the cared for person will pay for my fuel and will still be able to keep half off his SDP claim as apposed to none before.
My question is will universal credit take this into account or will they now throw me into work related groups? I already work part time as a self employed delivery driver for Amazon around about 10 hours a week on top of caring.

Whether or not UC limit your work requirements will depend on your work coach. You cannot be treated as caring for 35 hours/week or more if you are not claiming carer element.
However if you are earning enough (£345/month if you are single) you will be in the 'light touch' regime which I think should reduce the required interaction with the JobCentre.

I will be claiming carers credit to help with my national insurance. I'm not sure if that would help limit me as it is a declaration that I at least spend 20 hours a week caring for claiming it.

Carers credits doesn't count. Just so that you're aware, UC pays class 3 NI credits so carers credits are not needed.

[EDIT - apologies, poppy, missed that you'd already said that!]0 -
