Welcome to the community @brian1958
How are you doing today?
Thank you for sharing with us that you've recently been told you have ataxic cerebral palsy (CP). I can imagine that receiving a new diagnosis a little later in life might have brought up some challenges- how have you been feeling about it?
I've moved your post into our CP category, which I'd encourage you to have a look through. You may also be interested in attending Scope and CP Sport's virtual CP Cafe. I believe the next one is on Monday

Hi @brian1958
A very warm welcome! I have to say that, that is the latest diagnosis for Ataxic Cerebral Palsy (CP) that I have ever been aware of.
How has life been, and how do you feel about your diagnosis?0 -

Hi there @brian1958,
Just wanted to drop by and thank you for sharing this story with us. I’m so glad that you have finally received a diagnosis. I can imagine that it comes with lots of complex feelings, but it’s good to hear that you’re feeling positive. I find that making jokes helps me, too! I’m sure you’ll find a home here in the community and I’ll look forward to seeing you around. If you need any support or advice around accessing services etc., please don’t hesitate to ask

Welcome to the community @brian1958 and thank you for telling us a bit about yourself. I admire the attitude of trying to remain positive and see the lighter side of certain aspects of your condition, it's not for everyone but I'm glad that it is helping you manage.
