    I have full fibre it went off and I couldn't watch telly or use the phone for two days I thought it would bother me but instead me and mum went walking and I read a book to mum and we played monopoly and domino's  and cards now the telly goes on for a couple of hours and I come on here just as I come to bed  so me and mum doing well at the moment

    I couldn't live without the internet. I live in the middle of nowhere and listen to the radio on the internet because I can't get a radio signal where I live. I also buy my stock for my jewellery making business on line. It comes from china so if I didn't have the internet I wouldn't have a business!

    Absolutely not, I need to keep connected :D  I do miss the tone that played when you used to connect back in the days of dial up internet, they should bring that back

    What an interesting post.

    From what I remember, the internet was just getting going when I was growing up. I had my first Dial-up experience around 1997 and I got my first smartphone in 2009. 

    Due to the Pandemic, the internet has, for different reasons, become a lifeline for many people. So my answer to this question would be no. Lol

    I couldn't either  not now, it was a different world back then before the net, however, saying that, when at times the net is down, for a few days, usually because of the phone line etc, I do get more productive. But saying that, I'm always glad when it's fixed.

    Indeed. When i last had a house phone virgin had changed to VOIP, which i thought was ridiculous. Fast forward a couple of years and i no longer have my house phone plugged in.

    But, as I understand it, a key difference is that if the power is down so the router isn't working the landline will be unavailable (which is not true for the older technology).

    I have that Mike my landline is digital voice only problem is when the Internet goes off my landline goes off o have to have total WiFi I have to have discs to boost my Internet 

    My TV works through Internet because the signal is not good for aerial  its pretty good though
