i got awarded LCWRA on 28th March 2022
my question is will I receive extra money for LCWRA and if so when I know extra amount is paid 3 months after I didn’t receive it this month not sure if I’ll get it next month. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi,
Your waiting period is Jan/Feb, Feb/March, March/April... LCWRA starts from AP 10th April to 9th May and first payment is 16th May. No backdated money is owed.

Hi and welcome to the community

Your fit note has to cover the whole assent period so you waiting periods are Jan ti Feb,  Feb to March and March to April

So first period payment is April to May so first payment will be may

    Hello @busyMum16

Welcome to the community, I hope you are well and had a nice Easter weekend. This is a very supportive and welcoming community so I'm sure you'll enjoy taking part, if you ever have any questions then don't hesitate to ask them.

I have moved your discussion over to our Universal Credit category which you might find it useful to browse for related discussions, backpayment of UC is a very common subject these days :)

Yes you do. Unless you're claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim. Your first payment will be 16th May, you'll see it on your next statement.  https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/universal-credit/on-universal-credit/check-how-much-universal-credit-youll-get/

    How much you'll get

If you have LCWRA you'll get an extra £354.28 a month, and the DWP won't set a maximum amount for what you can get in benefits - called the 'Benefit Cap'.

    Clearly set out on https://www.gov.uk/universal-credit/what-youll-get

If you have a disability or health condition

How much you’ll getExtra monthly amount
If you have limited capability for work and work-related activity
    £354.28

The only instance in which you would not get extra money for LCWRA (after the waiting period has elapsed) is if you are on a joint claim with a partner and they already get the LCWRA money.

You are welcome @busyMum16, it is the very least you deserve. It is understandable that you find this confusing. It is the process which is confusing and the confusion does not reflect you as a person.

Is there anything which might make this more manageable for you at the moment? UC is not an area of my expertise but I care. Hopefully, we can all work together to reduce the confusion  :)
