Hello All
was wondering if anyone could help, I’ve started dental treatment with universal Credit entitlement for free treatment.
I have now been awarded PIP does this mean I now have to pay, it’s really extensive work I’ve had moulds taken for upper and lower plates
many thanks

There's information in this link regarding free NHS treatment when claiming UC. https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/90862/hi-my-name-is-uuiuh#latest
    Taken from the above link.

You qualify if, on the date you claim help with health costs:

you receive Universal Credit and either had no earnings or had net earnings of £435 or less in your last Universal Credit assessment period

    or

you receive Universal Credit, which includes an element for a child, or you (or your partner) had limited capability for work (LCW) or limited capability for work and work-related activity (LCWRA), and you either had no earnings or net earnings of £935 or less in your last Universal Credit assessment period

Note: If you're part of a couple, the net earning threshold applies to your combined net earnings.

Have you reported a health condition for UC? If not and your health condition limits your capability for work then you can report a changes of circumstances and send in fit notes to start the work capability assessment process off.
If you don't need an extra bedroom for a carer then you can have a look at applying for a discretionary housing payment from your local Authority. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/claiming-discretionary-housing-payments/claiming-discretionary-housing-payments

    Thankyou
I will look into that about discretionary payment.
I think I got it for 12 weeks when it was first introduced.
thankfully I’m not needing a carer to stay overnight and hope I don’t have to for a few more years yet🙏.
I guess it’s something I will have to always pay as I can’t have a lodger due to anxiety and hoarding and can’t move or want to move for same reason.
not sure if I will still have to pay when I get my pension in 5/6 years

When you reach state pension age you'll be exempt from the bedroom tax. https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/benefits/how_to_deal_with_the_bedroom_tax

    Thankyou poppy
i wasn’t sure, I knew if I was of pension age when they brought it in I would not have to pay.
wasn’t sure if because I wasn’t that it no longer applied for those who paid.
