ESA income/contributions
Hello everyone
I have a query if anyone knows the answer it would be great.
My brother gets income related esa ( not been moved to universal credit ) and pip.
He will be coming into money soon from inheritance, which will take him over the £16k - which he will report. I’m aware he will no longer be entitled to income related anymore.
My question is , will he be entitled to ‘contribution based esa ‘ / ‘new style esa’ now instead. To replace the income related esa?
His letters off the dwp in the past, say he is entitled to both income and contribution.
From what I’ve read savings is not effected on contributions.
So basically that’s my query , will he get contributions based. A straight swap. Thanks in advanced

Thank you Alice for clearing it up. I wasn’t 100% sure. It’s a minefield reading up all about it
