Can I claim carers premium for my husband?

My husband claims carers premium for me as I get PIP and he supports me. He now gets attendance allowance, so can I claim carers premium for him. We can’t claim carers allowance directly as we get Pension Credit.

    This is not correct. If someone claiming State Pension has an underlying entitlement to carers allowance they can claim the SDP as well as the carers premium. If there's other adults living with them then they must all be claiming a qualifying disability benefit or be registered blind.
    They wouldn't have been entitled to SDP previously anyway unless the husband was registered blind.
    @Carhar As you're now claiming a qualifying disability benefit then yes you can claim carers allowance. You won't receive carers allowance if your state pension is more than £69.70 per week. You will have an underlying entitlement to it so your pension credit will increase with the carers premium.
    May i also ask if you live with any other adults? If not then you'll also be entitle to couples SDP (severe disability premium) of £138.80 per week. You'll need to contact pension credit to apply for this.

    It’s the responsibility of the claimant to inform DWP if someone  starts receiving Carer’s Allowance or the carer element of UC for looking after them. (The problem happens if someone claims CA or carer element without telling the cared for person.)

    This is not the same situation anyway because the SDP and carer premium are only payable together if no one is actually receiving CA or the carer element for looking after them. This will happen if someone is claiming CA but not receiving it because of overlapping benefit rules (for example being in receipt of State Pension).
