Do they always tell you if yours was chosen for audit? It’s been 12 weeks since my assessment but I got the text saying they received it two days later

I had my asessment on 10th may, mine was held for review for 17days, apparently that means audit. I only know that because i rang because i never received a message to say that had received my report. If you had a text to say they had it i would of thought it wasnt in audit but i could be wrong

No, they don't tell you if your report is in audit. Your report was returned so it won't be in audit. Sometimes decisions can take longer than 12 weeks.

I think there are so many factors that influence each case, there can't be a standard timescale. Currently I'm on (I think) week 32 of my first claim with no news yet! I had my assessment on the 20th April, I got a text 4 weeks later to say they'd received my report, and that was 3 weeks ago now. I spoke to someone at the DWP yesterday to update them on the outcome of some pending medical stuff and she said she'd make a note, so I'm guessing nobody has looked at my file yet. Fingers crossed we both hear soon!

Yes, you're correct here, there's really no timescales. Backlogs are just part of the reason a decision can be delayed.
Just for future reference with reporting changes, there's no need to do this for every single change that happens. For example, if you were successfully awarded and you rang to tell them you've had a change of medication or a diagnosis they could take this "literally" and send you another form to fill in and return with all your evidence and then the whole process will start again.

Thank you, I'll definitely keep that in mind if my application is successful. To be honest, it was only because my assessor said (in so many words) that my pain can't be that bad if I choose CBD/splinting/heat pads over painkillers. My rheumatologist then confirmed my diagnosis and said (unprompted by me) that it doesn't usually respond well to painkillers, so I guess I only phoned up to be smug and say "I told you so" :D

You should definitely tell UC about the PIP award including when it starts from. As Biblioklept says, it can affect your UC entitlement depending on how your claim is made up.

It sounds really positive that he couldn't have been friendlier, nicer, or more helpful @bazz. This sounds like a relief from what you were worried about.

How are you feeling since having surgery? I hope you are well but please don't hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to support you.

We are all here for you and listening to you. You don't have to face this, or anything else, alone if you don't want to.

Take care for now and we will look forward to, hopefully, hearing from you again soon  :)
