Hi,
A worsening of condition doesn’t automatically entitle you to more points for a higher award. It depend on exactly how your conditions affect you against the 12 PIP activities.
Before doing anything else you should get some expert advice from an agency near you. https://advicelocal.uk/ You will be able to go into detail about how your conditions affect you and they will advise you whether more points are possible.0 -
Hi and welcome to the community
You can wait till your next review when does your current award end ?
Or you can report worsening of conditions bur this will prompt new forms and assessments
You should get expert advice before reporting changes and if is only worth doubg if you would get enough points for higher award0 -
Many thanks for the advice0

Welcome to the community @Hadley1967
I'm glad that the above replies have been helpful. Have you had a chance to take a look at the PIP descriptors (pipinfo.net) to see whether you think you could score any additional points, or get in touch with anyone through advicelocal.uk?
I'm sorry to hear that your condition has worsened. Are you receiving enough support to help you manage this?0 -
Looking through is was a huge help. Even without professional help in filling the form out, many many areas have changed, having said that, I am currently attempting to book an appointment with my local CA to make sure I get the form as correct as possible. It is such an extra worry with my condition get worse and the thought of failing to mention something or fill the form out incorrectly.0

Booking an appointment sounds like a good idea to me @Hadley1967. I can only imagine how worrying it must feel, but you're taking the right steps.0

hi all,
I am on the lower level of pip which i received for 8 years. I reach state pension age in March next year, will be reviewed before this happens?

You will only have a review if your current PIP award ends before you reach retirement age. Your most recent award letter will show the date of your next planned review. Once you’ve retired, any future reviews will be carried out under the light touch review process.

thank you for your reply.
My main concern with what’s happening with the government at the moment, if I was to put a request in for a change in circumstances( my disability has got worse)and approaching retirement age. They will take me off pip all together which I couldn’t risk as every thing has risen in price and I will struggle.
hope someone can at least ease my mind a little if I risk it.Thanks.
