What says summer to you?

As the summer season is swiftly approaching, if not already here, I'd like to know what things you associate with this time of year?

One for me is the sound of lawn mowers...

Not the bee's @life! Wasps and hornets are a lot less nice, especially when they are massive!

@Lisatho11987777 thinking of pools is definitely helping to feel relaxed :)

I associate summer with heat and just going slow and not moving too quickly so as to not get too hot!!!

Being able to wear a nice thin T shirt or summer shirt again. Walks in wooded glades . Children with buckets and spades and crabbing. Gentle boat rides along a cool river. Sunny trips in the car , depending on the price of petrol! 🙂

Almost forgot a lovely cornet ice cream 🍦

For me summer = nightmare. I don`t sleep very well in winter, so when summer turns up and it`s light for 30 hours a day (or that`s what it feels like), it`s a nightmare.
Dark at 22:30 and light at 04:30 (which, strangely, seems to be getting earlier), means I get very little sleep :s

:( I like to sleep too much @Cartini. I hope you can get some more sleep soon. Sounds like you would benefit from something which helps to block the light out of your room!

Summer to me, is when the cool pack comes out for my wheelchair. It’s like a small cushion that is placed behind me so that my back doesn’t over heat. Also when the freezer is stocked with twisters and Cornettos, etc.

I too like sleep - when I can get it, that is :s I`m hoping amitriptyline will help with the short nights.  The problem with closing curtains is no air flow, so it`s too hot to sleep and leaving them open is it`s too light to sleep. I can`t win :s

Have you tried those zero masks thingies which cover your eyes only. I found they worked some years ago when I had a similar problem? @Cartini
