Hi I’m just wondering on 19/04/21 I declared a health condition which was unable to make me work they sent me a questionnaire which I did not receive so they resent one, I eventually sent it off in October’21, eventually got my video call at end of February’22 which was then cancelled due to covid and lack of staff, was rearranged then rearranged again for same reasons to the point of I eventuallyhad it 13/06/22 I got my award notice saying I have got LCWRA, I’m just wondering on the back dating of payment will it go from the date I declared my health problem to UC or from when they received my questionnaire for LCWRA, also noting my payment dates are second of every month, with what Iv researched it says it goes from first sicknote/declaration of health so does this mean I’m entitled back pay from 2nd august 21 as 3 waiting cycles would have passed? Sorry for the long essay

LCWRA should be backdated to the date you declared your health conditions. The extra money (LCWRA element) is payable from the fourth complete UC monthly period after you declared the condition. I would make that 02/09/2021.1

Fit notes are supposed to be sent without any gaps. As there were gaps then it will be down to a decision maker to make the decision.

Decision maker for what may I ask? I have already been accepted for LCWRA for the letter in my journal on Friday, or does a decision need to be made on how much backpay I should get?0

Your statements will need to be recalculated so they can work out exactly how much they owe you. This can only be done by a decision maker. As there was also a gap in your fit notes they will also need to decide when it’s backdated to.1

Fair enough worst case scenario then it’ll be after july it’s just july which didn’t have a sick note for whatever reason I can’t remember why I didn’t put it in poppy123456 said:Your statements will need to be recalculated so they can work out exactly how much they owe you. Quick update spoke to UC today they say my LCWRA has been awarded and accepted from April 2021 so this means I should hopefully get back paid from 2/8/210

Good morning I have rang debt management yesterday explained my money worries and they decided I could have my back pay back to a big relief they said he would sort it to go in yesterday but it’s not showing in my bank does it take a few days to clear ?Thanks0

Hello @sam70 sometimes these things take a few days to process, that's right.
I'd wait 5 working days, and then perhaps chase them up if the money hasn't come in.
Keep us up to date with how things go!0
