Has anybody been successfully operated on their lumbar vertebrae nerve roots?

Has anybody been successfully operated on regarding leg pain, that has been radiating from their L3 and L4 nerve roots.
Perhaps even other nerve roots would be applicable.

    I have the same problem but i can not have the operation and at the moment i am awaiting to have a pain blocker fitted.
