Has anyone else heard that DWP phone doctors to tell them not to write medical support letters?

Has anyone else heard that dwp(pip) phone doctors /nurses to tell them not to write  medical support letters, as they probably wouldn't use them anyway and use their own assessment

    Never heard of this before. They very rarely contact anyone for any evidence anyway, the onus is on you to prove you qualify. If a GP did write a letter of support it wouldn't be the best evidence to send because a GP doesn't spend any time with you to know exactly how your conditions affect you.

    If you have had a WCA and been found Fit for Work then DWP can inform GPs that they no longer require Fit Notes. Daft because you might still need a Fot Note to provide to your employer regardless of what DWP think.

    You can refuse consent for them to do that by ticking the appropriate box.
