Hello everyone,
I have had a message on my Universal Credit Journal this afternoon and ( they gave there name) and said that they would like to ring me tomorrow morning to talk about my telephone Capability assessment I had in June with them. Is this something I should be worried about or is it something they do? As I am concerned , thank you in advance 😊

Sometimes before a decision is made they may have some questions to ask. I would say it’s probably a decision maker that is ringing you. It’s good that they warned you about the phone before ringing.0

It probably means that the Decision Maker wants to clarify something before making the decision. You can’t infer anything from that.0

Hello there @Catherine712
Thanks for making this post
Did they give any indication as to what exactly they wanted to discuss about the assessment? Perhaps they just need to gather a bit more information from you. I'm sure it will be nothing to worry about0 -
Have you heard from them today @Catherine712?0

Alex-Scope, thank you for your message. I had the telephone call from the decision maker this morning at 9am, he just wanted to know if anything had changed since I did the Assessment Telephone call in June. So I told him about all the new medical things I had on a letter sent by the guy who sent me for the MRI and X rays.He said he was sorry it took longer to get to me but they have backlog, anyway, he said he will try and get the report to me today via my online Journal on my UC account, if not today then tomorrow Thursday to tell me if I am successful or not ( my words not his ). He was talking about my retirement coming up in November.I will post when I get a decision. 🙋♀️0

I was turned down on the Capability Assessment from the decision maker this evening. I am very disappointed as I can not walk probably or very far with my health problems. I have an appointment ( phone appointment) with my advisor from the job Centre tomorrow so I will ask about the appeal against that decision. I am fuming as I know someone who got both Pip and another benefit by lying. yet I tell the truth and I get nowhere. I am going to wait until I get my UC this month then I am calling it quits with the job Centre as I see no point for 4 months then I retire. I have saved up some UC in case this happened so I will be ok. An appeal will take far too long.0

Please don't compare others to yourself because it's really not nice. There's lots of people out there that have invisible conditions but this doesn't mean they don't have a diability. It's very easy to put on a "brave face" when we are outside but behind closed doors the story maybe completely different. If you disagree with the decision then you can request the MR. You can do this on your journal by telling them which group you think you should have been placed into and your reasons why. Timescales for MR's is anything up to 12 weeks sometimes longer.0

Poppy123456, I know the people who lied and they told me themselves. I do not compare myself with others normally. I am not being unkind or mean. What is MR on my journal ? Seems as I am not nice as you said I won’t bother writing on here anymore.0

Journal refers to your UC online journal (unless you have a telephone claim).

Hi
There is no reason to leave the forum it is understandable you are upset with the outcome of your claim
You have no reason to close your claim you may as well get the final few payments b4 you hit retirement age
If you want to close your account on here then send an email to community@scope.org.uk0 -
Very few people claim PIP fraudulently. I didn't say you weren't nice, what i said was "it's not nice" to compare others to yourself. It's understandable that you're upset so take a few days to have a think about the MR process and come back if you need further advice. No need to leave the forum.0
