Disability premium

Hi
I’ve been receiving income support since 2017 and enhanced rate mobility component of pip since jan 2021 (no care element)
I’ve just found out today from somewhere else that I should have had a disability premium added to my income support when I was first awarded pip, which wasn’t done.
I’m waiting a call back from the DWP regarding this, but was wondering if this had happened to anyone else and what the outcome was?
thank you 😊
thank you 😊

The disability premium should automatically be paid and is £36.20 per week. (single person)The severe disability premium isn't automatically paid but because you're only claiming the mobility part you won't be entitled to that. Are you confusing the 2 different disability premiums?

Hi. No it’s just the standard disability premium. It wasn’t automatically added to my award.0

Hi. Just an update in case anyone else has this query in the future.DWP have paid arrears of just over £2000 into my account, backdated to when I started receiving pip.2

This sounds really positive @HelenBach. Thanks for sharing this news with us. I can imagine it was a relief

Thank you!
it was actually one of the debt charities that alerted me to the fact it wasn’t included in my benefits. The arrears will clear most of the debt I was asking for help with so it’s a huge relief 😅1 -
