Hi everyone,

Please can anyone help? I sent off the form for change of circumstances back in March and today received a letter with an appointment for a face to face assessment. I’ve been suffering with my Rheumatoid Arthritis terrible recently and been back and forth doctors and hospital having tests on my lower back. I’m in so much pain I don’t think I can make a face to face appointment next week. Can I request to have this appointment on the phone or by video call? Not only is my condition causing me pain but my anxiety has gone through the roof since opening this letter today. My original telephone appointment was bad enough.
Any help is massively appreciated.

You can certainly ring to ask, the worst that can happen is they refuse. You'll need to ring the number on the letter. With regards to your anxiety, it's perfectly normal to feel this way before an assessment, many others feel the same way.

@Tori_Scope hi, yes they have changed to a telephone appointment for next week. Does anyone know the current wait times after the assessment to receive the results? Thank you

@Tori_Scope it’s good in the sense the appointment will still go ahead by phone, yes. Just wondering how long it takes from the assessment to the results. The person above said 12 weeks?

Yes calcotti is correct up to 12 weeks. Though the assessor and DWP will tell you up to 8 weeks.

@morr12 .. it is quite a long wait and can be so frustrating if you're awarded though you'll be back dated from the date of the claim hope you get it
