Do they acknowledge that they've received the MR? What if other information comes up?

Just posted pip mandatory reconsideration on behalf of husband to a random address on top of pip decision letter....

Kept a copy.
Posted , delivered and signed for on Friday 29th July..

Do you get some sort of acknowledgement they've received it❓️
I'm panicking now as I didn't address to a particular dept.

Also what happens if other information comes up after you sent the letter ❓️

TIA

    Hi.
When you post something to PIP it gets sent to a postal sorting office and then gets scanned on to the system for a DM to receive, this can take a while to do. You might sometimes get a text message but it isn't guaranteed so don't worry about that either.
The address at the top of the decision letter is correct too so you haven't made any mistakes.

Please be aware that Mandatory Reconsiderations can take several weeks and only a small percentage change the original decision, after this you can then appeal.

Also to let you know they look at how the person was at the time of their assessment, any other information for anything after this date isn't really relevant but if for whatever reason you wanted to send it to PIP you can simply use that address again and it'll be attached to their file.

Thanks for replying.  The fact we'd been waiting on a specialist for 5 months and the day after i post hubbies MR they contact him ( sods law ) and now they are sending a letter to explain treatment going forward. Which would of backed his case up.
Mind you how long it will take to come is another thing.

    Good morning @Woodcock21
As far as I know it is not a requirement for the DWP to acknowledge receipt of a mandatory reconsideration request.  Your PIP award is based on how your disabilities affect you at the date of your claim. If the specialist's report is relevant to your husbands conditions in the period leading up to his PIP claim then you should submit it and it should be considered by the Decision Maker.

Well he's received a text saying  they've reviewed his MR.  Still waiting on specialist letter about treatment start date.

Best of luck to him @Woodcock21. Hopefully, the specialist letter about the treatment start date will be received soon.

How are you both feeling about this at the moment? We are here for you both, even if that's just as a listening ear  :)
