Pip advice needed overwhelmed

Hello everyone
I would like some advice if possible
i’ve done a few posts in the past regarding my process of PIP and the process of my blue badge application
it’s been very overwhelming for me at times and I’ve struggled to keep maintaining my mental health so many questions and explaining myself regarding my disability
when I received my PIP I was not happy with the outcome regarding standard daily living and standing mobility by the time I was mentally unwell enough to fight and appeal their decision or I think it’s called mandatory reconsideration
I do have support but sometimes I find it really hard to communicate with people and have dyslexia so it’s very difficult for me to write the sentences or even appeal something my mind does not automatically able to put words into sentences and a lot of people didn’t understand what I’m saying when it comes to writing/appeared in situations
But at the time when I was awarded my personal Independence payments I was just so pleased that it came to an end because it was such a struggle mentally and physically a long process
by the time I really wanted to do it mandatory reconsideration on the mobility part I have reached out before to Citizens Advice and they have helped me
I would like some advice if possible

On this occasion I didn’t reach out to Citizens Advice I didn’t and I think I should have I’m just wondering if I still can do a mandatory consideration on my mobility part
there’s a lot of situations and scenarios on my personal Independence mobility part I don’t think we’ll take it into I struggle every day to get around on my own I have my carer with me to go to my GP appointments to go to work with me also my carer supervise me whilst I’m driving
but yet I scored zero points on the mobility part and yes I can walk but it’s to do with how certain situations I can’t deal with my mental health like being around people having panic attacks not able to do supermarket shopping on my own so I just feel like there’s a lot of situations I could’ve scored some points on against the two sectors on the mobility part I just feel like personal Independence payment just took into account that unable to drive on my own and I actually real life situations unable to go hardly anywhere on my own without supervision because of extreme anxiety depression body dysmorphia
I was awarded PIP back in April this year I did hear that I have up to 13 months to do a mandatory consideration even if I didn’t do it in the first 30 days
any advice would be really appreciated as I’m really not sure where to go forward from here

Yes, you have 13 months to request the MR with good reason why you didn't request it within the first month.chrisssy said:

This activity considers a claimant’s physical ability to move around without severe discomfort, such as breathlessness, pain or fatigue. This includes the ability to stand and then move up to 20 metres, up to 50 metres, up to 200 metres and over 200 metres.Do you have difficulties walking?Driving isn't considered in the mobility part. Was it acitivity 1D that you scored the points in? for unfamiliar journey? For 12 points in following and planning a journey this is related to a familiar journey. I don't know exactly how your conditions affect you so it's very difficult to give any advice on this.If you're able to get some expert advice then you should do this before doing anything else because if it's not possible to score points in 1F then there's little point in going forward with this. @poppy123456 thank you for your advice as always much appreciated it’s good to know that I still have some time for manager reconsideration
Do you have difficulties walking? Yes it all depends on how I am on a daily basis on my bad days with my anxiety and my dysmorphia and my Extreme OCD I have an episode I cannot leave the house I find it so hard to even walk I’m out of breath I’m so fearful of people charging me
even when I go to work I am supervised and my carer is with me
I cannot do the supermarket shop when I have my panic attacks I will freeze I cannot move at all
yes I can do unfamiliar routes but if there is an obstacle course in the way or a road was shut off I cannot continue my journey
I would have a panic attack sweaty palms
discomfort cannot breathe I go into an out of body experienceI’m not able to go places unattended I will freeze and not be able to continue going to my destination even if I’m walking0 -
@poppy123456 for an example I could possibly walk up a flight of stairs but if there was a group of people coming downstairs more than one person on the stairs I could not walk up the stairs quicker to extreme anxiety and overload and just freeze
another example I could possibly walk 200 feet if there is a group of people at the end of the road and walking in or somebody looked at me differently and I feel like they were chatting me I would be extremely overwhelmed this I would freeze and I cannot Continue walking
My mobility all depends on how my disabilities affect me on a daily basis I struggle ever so much to get around0 -
@poppy123456 when I arrive at my property I cannot just get out of the car straight away if there’s people around or having a bad episode I cannot just get out the car and walk I need someone to come and collect me calm down and support me all the way there0

@poppy123456 and example on The moving around section all depends how you feeling on that day on my worst days
I cannot do this it would cause me a massive psychological distress discomfort
I could not breathe properly sweaty palms overwhelmed this so much discomfort0 -
You need to distinguish the two different questions about Mobility. The first question about planning and following a journey is the question that deals with how your mental health condition affects you. The second question about moving is about any any physical limit activities that affect your ability. if you have no physical restrictions then your focus is on the first of the questions.
From your previous threads you were, as I understand iI, given a standard rate Mobility award - presumably given on the impact your mental health has.
As poppy has explained, if, on the majority of days, you are unable to go out then you can only consider 10 points and you cannot 12 points this this activity. Everything you have mentioned appears to confirm that you find it difficult to go out on the majority of days. Your award appears correct.0 -
You've misunderstood the moving around part. What you've described here doesn't sound like scoring points for this activity would be possible. The reason you can't walk is because of your anxiety. You're unable to breathe because your anxiety causes your breathing to be this way. Fear makes you unable to walk, which wouldn't be considered for the moving around part. The moving around part would apply to someone with conditions such as Arthritis, fibromyalgia, lung conditions, that causes them difficultly with breathing, which would mean walking would be difficult. It would be the same if someone with a physical condition needed someone with them to be able to go out. They wouldn't score any points in activity 1, activity 2 would be the one to look at.calcotti said:

I believe the OP scored points for 1D rather than 1E, though they are both the same points so their award would still be standard. They've mentioned they work so depending on how many days they work, 1E may not be the correct descriptor anyway.0 -
