Hi all, Hope everyone is well.
Last Tuesday I received a call from Capita without any warning. It literally lasted 14 minutes. I rang them today to ask if this was my assessment and he said they did a paper based assessment. Anyone else had this? I thought i would have a telephone assessment

Paper based assessments are rare but they do happen. We've had some members that have had this. Once the report is returned to DWP then a decision takes anything up to 12 weeks.

Welcome to the community @Tishat121
Thank you for joining, and for asking a question here!
As poppy123456 has explained, we've had a few people mention that they've had a paper based assessment. It's not anything to worry about.
Are you happy with the evidence you included in your forms?0 -
Thank you @poppy123456
@Tori_Scope I sent loads of reports backing up my claim. I feel there was more than enough. It just took me took me by surprise the call was out of the blue. Fingers crossed I have rang PIP today to see if they have the copy of my report which they do. So ill patiently wait for the copy and my decision0 -
I've got my fingers crossed @Tishat121
It can sometimes take a little while for the decision letter to arrive, but hopefully it won't be too long. Some people find they receive a payment before their decision letter arrives, if they've been successful, so it's worth keeping an eye on your bank account too. We've also heard from a few people who've received some text updates.
So ill patiently wait for the copyDid you request a copy of the report?

@Tori_Scope Yes - The lady printed and posted it whilst I was on the phone. Thank you0

It sounds really positive that the lady printed and posted it whilst you were on the phone @Tishat121. If we can do anything else to support you, please don't hesitate to let us know1

Please rememebr that the assessment report is not the decision. It's a recommendation only. Whilst they mostly go with the report, it has been known for them to go against it.

Hi I received my assessment report today.
I have scored 12 on mobility and it looks like 7 on daily living. There is a summary from the assessor then each descriptor. I am a hit worried eith the budgeting question she has scored me 0. But in her summary says my mother has to help me with asic things like shopping as I do it online. I believe I should of scored 2. There's a few other crossovers.
Do I wait for my award notice or decline or get evidence ready for MR incase they have gone with the assessors recommendation0 -
I would wait for your decision letter before you take any action @Tishat121 as the decision maker may not go completely with the assessors recommendation, they have your application and evidence to consider too.
Once you have the letter and can confirm your award, if you would like to challenge the decision, we can support you with that.
There's a nice overview of your options if you feel you should challenge the decision, on the Turn2Us website, if that's helpful for you.
Let us know if there's anything you need a hand with, and I wish you all the best for a positive outcome for your PIP.

@Alex_Scope Hey, I have been awarded today Enhanced mobility no daily living
I scored 12 on Mobility and 7 on daily living. The report for daily living does not match what has been scored. I also now have a statement from my mum and my boss at work on how they support me day to day with work and at home. Do you think its worth me doing the MR or just be happy with what I have got?1 -
@Alex_Scope
Also Can I start a MR without my award letter or am I best to wait for it to arrive? I already have my assessment report? Is it best to ring or write a letter?0 -
You don't need to the award letter to request the MR but you should wait so that you can see exactly where you scored those points. The assessment report is not the decision letter. Always better to put it in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points.Include a couple of real world incidents of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each activity that applies to you. Adding detailed information such as where you were, what exacetly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were. You should aim for at least half an A4 side of paper per descriptor that applies.

Hi @Tishat121 and thanks for the update, I hope your decision letter awards you the levels of PIP you're looking for. It's also really positive to hear how supportive your mum and boss are, as well.
If you do decide you'd like to ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration after you've seen the letter, the community will be here to support you through that process
If you have other questions in the meantime, please ask.1
