Good afternoon all.
My adult daughter has CP and the services from our local hospital are starting to become inadequate to meet her needs. The consultants she sees are specialists in their respective areas but don’t understand the implications having Cerebral Palsy has. Does anybody in South Wales see anybody specialising in, or at least having a good understanding of, Cerebral Palsy? Thanks,

Hello @CymruClarke and thanks for your posts on the community. As you mentioned in another post, CP care and provision really tends to drop off after patients leave paediatrics. I can understand as someone with mild CP myself that it's immensely frustrating.
I'm afraid I'm not sure what services are available in South Wales, but I can tag @Richard_Scope, our CP information officer, who might know where to find out more. A quick search has produced a lot results for support for children with CP but not adults with CP.
It might be worth raising the issue with UP: The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement as well, they used to be known as Adult CP Hub.
Keep us up to date with how things go if you can, and do ask if you feel we can help any further.

Hi @CymruClarke
Good to meet you.
There isn't a specific role of Cerebral Palsy consultant in the U.K. A multi-disciplinary team of medical professionals generally manages our condition.
Here are some centres that specialise in CP. Unfortunately, none of them is in Wales.Neuro-rehab centres
Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear
Preston
Derby and Burton
Electronic Assistive Technology Service | University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS (uhdb.nhs.uk)
London and National
