Hi. I have had my assessment and received my report. I am happy with most of it and feel it is a fair representation. It suggests I will score 11 points on the daily living and 12 on mobility. My only query is on planning a meal. The report suggests  2 points for an aid . I have attempted to explain that really I need assistance in the kitchen for meals. I am ok ish during the  first part of the day but for the evening meal I really struggle and am often in tears, and have my husband take over. I have secondary progressive ms. Its exhausting and ms fatigue means that by 3 or 4pm I am too tired to do anything. I can sit ti chop etc but standing and moving in the kitchen is too much. I just want to lye down! I usually plan a packet meal or something I have prepared before and frozen just to shove in the oven. this to me is not being able to cook a meal.  Any suggestions on how to communicate this before the decision is made. I don't know how to get my position understood. Thankyou in advance.

You can write a longer description of your difficulties and post it to DWP. You can ring and ask them to add information to your file but you are then dependant on how the person answering the phone records what you say.

Carrying items around the kitchen or carrying food to where it will be eaten is not included in this activity. If you are able to sit and prepare your meal then 2 points in correct for this activity.
