If you do not return the UC50 form then you may be found as treated as Fit for Work.
Hello thank you for your reply. if I am deemed as being fit for work will I lose the transitional payment? I will be happy to be deemed fit for work if I do not lose the transitional payment and will be able to look for work that suits my disability
The transitional change would not change but you would then be checked to possibly demonstrate job seeking and would be required to have regular contact and meetings with your Work Coach.
I understand. It may make sense to do the form then so I have less stress in the long run, I just do not have the mental capacity to do it now, is there a way I can ask them to extent the time I send my form back?

I had a quick look online, and I'm not 100% sure if you can get an extension @meli. Is there anyone who could help you to complete the form?

I'm also sorry to hear that you're experiencing some mental ill health at the moment. Are you receiving any support to help you manage this at the moment?

The rules for returning the UC50 form are very strict and there’s no extension to return the form.
There is some relaxation in the rules if there’s a mental health marker on your file but this isn’t guaranteed.

Thank you all for your supportive responses I had to take a break from the forum because I was feeling so overwhelmed by it all. I have sent off the form today, it was late but I mentioned that I was having mental health issues and I am kind of confident they would consider this. Thank you all again and if you have any more advice please do not hesitate to add. I hope you have a nice day :)

Hi guys one question as I am sending in a fit note do I have to show that I looking for work? Or does it mean because of my sick note I do not have to log my job search and send to my work coach every week?

UC treats you as a jobseeker until a Work Capability Assessment has been carried out and a decision made. In the meantime your Work Coach can reduce your requirements but it is at their discretion. However as soon as the ESA Support Group status is recorded there will be no job related requirements.

Thank you for getting back to us @meli :) You don't need to apologise at all. You're welcome to pop back onto the community any time you have an update, or want to chat about something!

How's your mental health been over the past couple of weeks?
