edited September 2022 in Universal Credit (UC)
Hi everyone I need some advice please. I have been awarded lcwra. I handed in my first of continuous sick notes on the 29th November 2021. My assessment was not untill 2nd of September 2022.
I received a msg in my journal stating I was owed £708 in back payment.
As far as I'm aware the 3 months waiting period starts from the first medical note.

I have contacted them with my query and was told the amount is correct and won't be changed.
Is this correct and I'm just confused?

That is correct but UC frequently get this wrong (for which there is no excuse on their part since it's fundamental). You can request a Mandatory Reconsideration of the decision not to backdate.

The LCWRA status should be backdated to when you first reported the health condition supported by continuous Fit Notes since doing so and the extra money (LCWRA element) should be paid from the fourth fill UC assessment period following  when you first reported it.

Depending on your exact dates it would seem likely that you are due money from April 2022.

Thank you for your reply. I have put a msg in my journal for a mandatory reconsideration on my back payment. Fingers crossed it helps.
