I have a serious mental illness. I cannot work , am on esa income based support and other benefits like a pip. My wife is my carer and receives carers allowance.
Her job looking after me is over 35 hours a week but she has time to organise others to do online selling for a small business she can set up. It is what she did before I became ill and she wants to try this again . We checked with Citizens Advice and as long as her work does not affect her hours she needs to care for me, she can do this extra work.
But will I lose my ESA if she starts this work,? CAB think she can earn up to £132 per week but we are not so sure. Advice please!

Good morning @Happymartins welcome to our great group.
Sorry i don't have an answer for you, but i am sure when the site wakes up one of our experts will pick up on your thread.0 -
She cannot claim Carer's Allowance if she earns more than £132/week. That limit has nothing to do with your ESA. (Rather appalled that CAB appear to have given you incorrect advice.)
What type of ESA are you claiming? If it is income based ESA then any CA will be deducted from your ESA but a carer premium will be added to your maximum ESA amount.
Any earnings she receives above £20/week will be deducted from your ESA.
