Work Review Search while on sick note

edited September 2022 in Universal Credit (UC)
Hello everyone, I am new here and would like your help and advice about this matter. I signed up for for UC and provided my fit note from 7th June due to my health conditions and very limited mobility and not being able to work since January 2022 which I was on sick leave and still am on sick leave but no money from employer as the 28 weeks SSP finished on 27 July. I haven’t received any money from UC as the weekly SSP was greater than the standard allowance and since 28th July I applied for New style ESA (when I applied for UC on 7th June, my intention was to get reduced council tax as I have been told that how it is, however I am not receiving correct council tax calculations hence not receiving correct reduction on council tax)

I have already completed the requested UC50 questionnaire and sent it off last week of July and still waiting for assessment/outcome.

During all these months I have never been asked to attend to any work related search appointments and my commitment based on my conditions was only to check my Journal and advise them of any change of circumstances and provide fit notes. However, last week I had a message to attend a work related search appointment at job centre plus, I used my journal and reminded them that due to my health conditions and very limited mobility I can not make to the face to face appointment as I can barely manage to walk/stand/sit between 2-10 minutes and I have to lie down during the conversation, so they said they will call me instead and they will keep calling me from now onwards every month. My question is, is this correct?

Thanks for your time and help with this matter.

When claiming UC you are classed as a job seeker until a decision is made on your work capability assessment. It’s a work coaches discretion whether they turn off or reduce work commitments. Some do, others don’t.
It seems like they have decided they want to keep in contact with you going forward, at least until a decision is made on your claim so yes, it’s normal at this stage.
If you’re found to have LCWRA then you will not need to attend any appointments.
