Up and LCWRA

Hi writing this for my brother due to his strokes he  struggles grasping things …. His  UC is supposed to be £334.91 a month but have a few deductions…  he  started sending sicknotes in December and was receiving standard sick pay from work  until the end of April when it was decided he would not be returning to work   so didn’t start getting hi UC payments till may my first’s payment was £13 … He sent sicknotes every month and his current one is till 30th September. He  was awarded LCWRA on the 12th September. Does this mean he’s  already done the 3 month waiting  period  and will the LCWRA element replace his UC or be paid On too thank you.

    LCWRA does not replace UC. LCWRA is an additional amount added to the UC calculation.

    The three month waiting period is from the health condition was reported.

    Hi Alex I’ve just been on the phone as I haven’t received my statement to inform me of my payments and I asked the lady if I’d passed my 3 waiting period as I started my sicknotes in December and she’s adamant my waiting period starts from when they awarded me LCWRA not the date of my sicknotes??

    She wasn’t very helpful at all and seemed offended that I didn’t think she was correct… I even read word for word what my Decision letter said regarding the free month and it goes from the first time you reported your illness and she was still not agreeing. Also she said just put a question on your journal and I explained if she could take a look she can see my questions have gone unanswered for over a week.

    That's quite frustrating to hear @Phillfroggy I'm so sorry she wasn't very helpful or supportive. I would encourage you to ring again, when you feel able, as I think speaking to someone (who will hopefully be more helpful), is the quickest way to resolve this.

    I called again and spoke to a different person who was completely different to the last person and not only confirmed the advice I received from the scope forum and it’s members but managed to get my statement updated and Friday I will receive full payment. It will take a few weeks to sort out the backdated payments as they have to go through it all. Again thank you all for the advice and help I would still be starring at the walls without your help and support 💙💙💙💙
