Does it always take 8 weeks to reach a decision re PIP? It seems so long to wait when I’ve been unable to work for a long time.

    Good morning and welcome to our great group @Poicoi
    It is a very stressful time the waiting game - all i can say is the 8 weeks is not a set thing, the decision is "upto" and some cases have been longer - just hold on in there and try and distract yourself.

    From when the report is returned to DWP a decision can take between 2-12 weeks.

    Many people become frustrated at the waiting times involved in claiming for PIP. I know that won't take away your frustration, but I hope it helps you feel a little less alone.     How did you find applying for PIP?

    It's also worth noting that PIP isn't about your ability to work. Are you receiving any work-related benefits, such as LCWRA?
