Hi everyone, I recently filled in a form for a elderly uncle in April, I have rung them and all I have got from them is we will get someone to call you back within the next 48 hours and the phone number will start with 0800 or 0300 so I wait and nothing. I did it online and sent it off and still haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else had the same problem please.

Do you mean you filled in a form for a welfare benefit?
    What was the form for?

It will help to know which form you are talking about.

It doesn't usually take that long to have a decision on a claim. I would say up to about 12 weeks usually, though some have a decision sooner. All you can do is contact them again when they open on Monday.

OP may not be able to get any information from AA unless uncle is with him or OP has asked to be an appointee.

Yes I done that 3 times now and they keep saying the same thing. I will call them again on Monday.

This sounds really frustrating @Charlie1983. Good luck with calling them on Monday!

Please feel free to let us know how it goes and if you need any support in the meantime. We are all here for you and listening to you  :)

Thanks, I just don't understand how it is taking so long but they are quick to stop payments. I have never known the dwp to be so useless as they have been in the last 4 years or so. 15 years ago they were pretty good everything would be done and dusted within 6 weeks but not anymore. But thank you everyone and I will be sure to update you all on mine and the elderly gentleman's claims when I have managed to get through to them.
