Hi Pam do you know how lwcra works?0

There's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time and the extra money is then paid from the 4th month after you reported your health condition/sent your first fit note.Based on the extra information you gave on this thread here. https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/96863/lcwra-silly-repeated-question#latestYour waiting period will be July/Aug, Aug/Sept, Sept/Oct.... LCWRA starts from assessment period Oct 15th to Nov 14th and your first payment will be 21st November. No LCWRA element is owed because it's not paid at all during the waiting period.

Hi there
With limited info you have given can't give exact advice
You have 3 full assessment period from reporting your condition before payment is made
So July to Aug then Aug ti Sept and Sept to Oct will be waiting periods first payment due in your Nov uc payment so there will be no back pay owed0 -
Thanks a lot the woman on the phone said there’s a chance you don’t get extra money for lwcra is there any chance I can just keep receiving my standard allowance and no extra on top0

This person was not correct in your case. LCWRA increases your maximum UC by £354.28/month. The only time where there wouldn't be extra money is if someone is claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on their claim.

And does this also mean I don’t get any backdated at all?0

No, not for the LCWRA element because it's not paid at all during the waiting period, which is 3 full assessment periods. Your first payment is next month. The only time it's paid from the start of your claim is if you're claiming through the DS1500 route.

Ok thanks a lot for your help a lot better knowledge than the actual UC staff0

You're welcome. To be honest, they are not benefits advisors, they are just call centre staff who have very limited knowledge. They would be the last place i would advise anyone to go for such advice.

Or under SR1 for those who might die within 12 months. Both DS1500 and SR1 come under special rules. SR1 currently only applies for UC and ESAbut will be extended to disability benefits in due course (at which point the AdS1500 will presumably be retired).poppy123456 said:.
