If I do Mandatory Reconsideration could they take away my award all together?

Hi everyone, just looking for a bit of advice.

I got my letter yesterday saying I’d been awarded Standard Mobility (£24.45 per week). I’m extremely confused as I struggle with Daily Living just as much, if not more and I tried to make this clear on my evidence form and at my telephone assessment.

My parents are encouraging me to apply for Mandatory Reconsideration, but I’m scared that if I ‘rock the boat’ so to speak, they’ll take away my award all together. Could this happen? Also, if I do apply for MR will I need to go through another assessment?

I don’t know what to do for the best here.

You can be awarded any part of PIP, I also encourage the MR. They can of course take your whole award away although it's unlikely and rarely heard of them to do this. You will not need to attend another assessment. Remember, you have one month from the date of decision to request this although once you have phoned to 'start the process' you can phone close to the deadline to request more time if you need to gather evidence etc.

It may also be worth getting expert advice:

Other members will add further I'm sure although I thought I'd get the basics out of the way. Good luck :)
