As things get more autumnal I always find that listening to something can be a comfort, especially when I'm on my own at home.
Podcasts have really soared in popularity in the last few years, and I'd love to know your favourites, or any recommendations!

Two of my favourites are:
- The Archers Omnibus- the long running Radio 4 radio play set in the fictional village of Ambridge
- The Tennis Podcast- as the name suggests, this covers anything and everything about the professional tennis tour

I've heard true crime podcasts are very popular @Pam! I hope you enjoy them, meanwhile it's always a good idea to be mindful of any triggers for your PTSD and take small steps to support yourself.
Mind has some practical self-care tips for living with PTSD if it's helpful, as sometimes it can be overwhelming in the moment. Do have much ongoing support for managing it?
As for The Archers you can find it on BBC Sounds, either on the app, or through the iPlayer, and as long as you can access those, it's freeHave you been a fan for long?

I don't watch it in podcast format - I just watch snippets of it on YouTube, but I believe it did come as a podcast - I like the Ricky Gervais Show.
A lot of it I don't like, e.g. how they seem to bully Karl Pilkington, but I still find bits of it entertaining and I learn quite a lot from it.

I remember watching some of the animated clips from the Ricky Gervais Show @66Mustang, the animation is very well done, but I agree, Karl doesn't get treated too well all things considered!
What are some of the things you've learnt?0 -
@Alex_Scope I can't actually think of anything off the top of my head but I often will say something to a family member or think of something and remember that I learnt that piece of knowledge from the show.
Quite a lot of philosophical stuff (I believe Ricky has a philosophy degree) and also stuff about animals - I think Ricky loves animals and Karl finds them interesting so they come up a lot!0 -
@Pam I can relate to enjoying things even though they can trigger my problems. I don't have PTSD but I have a mental health condition which is triggered by seeing violence. I like watching (on YouTube) the battle scenes from TV shows and films but I try not to watch them. Sometimes I will have a good day and feel "strong" and be tempted to watch something but I have to remember that my issues are still there and refrain from watching it. I'm not sure if that is something you can relate to!0

I'm glad you've found something which help you to sleep @Pam0

@Ada I do understand what you mean and respect your thoughts but just want to say to remember not everyone is like the criminals. I have a family member who was a police detective for 30 years and he developed a very negative view of society because he had to work with a lot of criminals, people who were, to put bluntly, scum. However, after some time, he came to realise that this was very much the minority of society and not everyone is "scum". Most people are decent.

I like listening to Distractable on you tube. One of my favourites is Bob's Fridge. Basicly it is three friends, and each week one of them would give a topic, they tell their stories and the best one judges by that weeks host hosts the following weeks show.
Language does get a bit strong at times.
Another one I like is Drawfee. Four friends drawing pictures based on a particular topic in each episode. I am fascinate by watching the drawings develop. They do chat as they draw.0
