Hi l have posted on here before and found good advice l suffer with severe anxiety and depression. I have received my pip form and with help will be filling it in tomorrow.  and gathering my supporting evidence. Does anybody have a general idea from sending the form of to be called for assessment and then after that for a pip decision?  And the current waiting as at October 2022 when l first rang to make my claim also as l suffer from Anixitey would they let me have a telephone assessment or will l be forced to have a face to face assessment which l Dread. I read about really long waits which makes it all worse but if anybody could give me a positive response or help that be great. As always all help gladly appreciated

Potentially several months from returning your form to having a decision. From sending the form to having the assessment a few months maybe.
Once the assessment report is returned to DWP a decision can take 2-12 weeks, sometimes longer.
You can ask for a telephone assessment but if a face to face assessment is needed then you will need to attend. They also do video assessments.
These timescales are just a guide, it will all depend on backlogs and your individual case and no one can tell you exact times.
Best thing to do once you've returned your form is try to concentrate on something else otherwise the time will seem longer, i do realise that's easier said than done.
There's many many threads on here with advice on filling out the form so have a look through different threads.

Hey @stephan41621536 as a rough guide I had made the initial call at the end of July, sent back my assessment on 19th August and had a text message followed by a letter last Wednesday for a face to face today! I was told it shouldn’t take long and have heard within the next 2 weeks unless DWP want to contact my specialists. Hope this gives you a rough guide! I think it also depends on the volume of applicants in your area as down here seem to pretty quick!
Wish you the best of luck

    Hi Stephen.

I applied in July had my assessment a couple of days ago a paper based one.
They said it can take up to 8 weeks from now but most are being done in around 6.

Yes I know how you feel! I got my text about the appointment and 2 days later I got the letter for my face to face. I had 7 days notice so hopefully that gives you a rough guide.

I know what you mean I only had the assessment yesterday and barely slept last night wondering if I answered everything as I needed too etc.. hopefully I will here soon!
