Bit nervous

Just catching up @66Mustang and well done, I can relate to how nervous you were feeling!
I don't enjoy driving, and sometimes work myself up into a state over it, even though I know I can do it, and it will be fine! It's the build up before I start that's the worst, when I'm behind the wheel I go into autopilot, and when I get out I wonder what all the fuss is about- only to repeat next time
Anxiety is a funny thing sometimes isn't it.0 -
Thanks @Alex_Scope
My anxiety is a bit different. I get it even while driving on the motorway. I have obsessive morbid thoughts that I am going to crash the car on purpose. I know I am in control and I don't want to do anything silly and it's just a thought. I am giving it more meaning by being scared of it! But that's just how it seems to go!0 -
I hear you @66Mustang. Anxiety sounds really difficult to deal with, especially when you feel you are giving it more meaning and you get it even while driving on the motorway.
Does anything make it more manageable for you? We are here for you if you would like to talk about this further with us0 -
@L_Volunteer thanks
I've only found one thing that genuinely helps take the thoughts away, and that thing is neither healthy nor compatible with driving.
Other than that I just have to ride it out!
Any suggestions would be more than welcome, though!0
