Hi @jackieann3 thankyou for the update. I know its not the news you wanted, but now you have a diagnosis you can plan on going faward. It's great your getting support for your mental health. When you see gp you need to see if he can help with the pain relief and may be anti inflammatory meds.
It's good you are booked in. I suffer with my spine I find a hot water bottle on the area helps but you will need to see what helps you.

Hi @jackieann3 - I'd suggest just start slowly with those exercises you can do, doing a little & often. You're right, both the physical & mental aspects of pain need to be considered.
Here's a good resource to look into in the meanwhile called Ten Footsteps: http://resources.livewellwithpain.co.uk/ten-footsteps/well-done/

Hi @jackieann3 - so many things can help, & medications may help to at least dampen down your pain. Some of us are very sensitive to them, myself included, but please let your Dr know if they're upsetting your stomach as perhaps there are others you can try.
It often seems to be a combination of things that can help, heat, as mentioned, & also try this way of breathing, which is mentioned in the Ten Footsteps, as unfortunately they don't give a link as to how to do this: https://www.nbt.nhs.uk/sites/default/files/attachments/Diaphragmatic Breathing.pdf
As you will see, this also helps with pain.
Please let us all know how you get on.
