Morning all, the joys of not being as fit as i was i suppose, I wouldn't mind but the Doctors have not seen me ftf since my back as gone this bad, they past me straight back to the hospital, i suppose i am lucky that i have been under the hospital for many years with my spine, could all this, that i am having now be associated with not being as active as i was 2-3 years ago ? I only stopped struggling into work from Sept "21" a job were i was constantly on my feet. We used to love walking, used do 4-5 miles on our walks, can't do that now, i am trying to build up to walking more tho and push my self to walk round the block each day, some days are harder then others. I put a stone on when i was on the Duluxotine and i suffered with terrible bloating, since i have been of those meds my weight has stopped going on and i have lost about 4lb so far, still having sweets, odd dizzy spells, blood pressure keeps fluctuating. I would say i am 1 and half stones over weight, I do feel something else is going on but Locum just said my bloods were good !!!
Try and practice mindfulness perhaps a bit of yoga and drink lots of water !!!!! I am an advocate of supplements and take different vits/min to support my bones, perhaps i don't like being told i am "Not a fit person" i don't knowwwww.
Oh well enough about me, told you i should of started another thread ha ha.
Ps yes tonic water is very good, i have half a pint a day when i have restless legs or cramps, schwepps slimline has more quin in it then shop branded.
Have a great day my friends xxx1 -
@SueHeath sorry you are having these issues so annoying when you build yourself up for gp appt then they dismiss how you are feeling . You know your own body and when things are not right
Leave it few weeks see how you get on and go back if needed you might get different doc1 -
Morning all @SueHeath I would definatly go back to your gp. I know how you feel about walking, I get really tired on shopping trips. Its no fun. I have thought about walking round the block each day to build up, is that something you can try.
I find these days getting repetitive lately, house work, laundry cooking1 -
@SueHeath
I find these days you have to make a nuisance of yourself to get any help from doctors (and other services).
E.g. keep going back until you get help, keep asking, make a fuss, don't give up.
Not nice for those of us who prefer to be quiet and unassuming but I think the various services see us as an easy "customer" as they know we won't like to make a fuss.1 -
Thanks both probably just feeling sorry for myself ha ha, i don't like that usually just brush myself down and get on with things, the Doc's are a joke tho, can't even get one of our old doctors now, nearly always a locum and always over the phone !!!
Yep @Sandy_123 since the Doc at the hospital told me to try and walk/keep moving, through the pain, i have been trying to go round the block most days, i use my stick, wont try walking any were else because i do feel vunrable when i'm on my own, hope that makes sense, when hubby's not decorating we drive to a lovely spot were we used to do lots of walking, so i am trying, just sitting here typing having a major flush now, cold feet but body sweeting ha ha, can't still be the change for gods sake started that 15 years ago ha ha x1 -
@SueHeath yes I get not feeling safe on your own. Here we have a local ramblers club where group of people go for walks together, to be honest tho, I doubt they are at my slow pace. They are all kitted up in hiking boots and ruck sacks. I usually watch them when I'm waiting for the bus.
Its ok to feel down every now and then0 -
I just got an email inviting me to get a winter COVID vaccine “because I’m over 50 or am at increased risk due to a health condition”. I’m under 50 and I didn’t know I had any health conditions relevant to Covid. I certainly wasn’t eligible for an early vaccine when they did the previous ones. Have they changed the list of conditions that make you eligible for an early vaccine?
I booked a vaccine anyway.

Good afternoon all, sorry @66Mustang i've just noticed you've changed your picture ha ha, if your offered it and your okay to have it go for your booster mustang, i would be glad about my sons having it.
Same trouble with me @Sandy_123 notifications popping up all over the place, the team must be working on it ha ha. Lovely sunny day here, went for a nice drive through the country side to a little town about half an hours drive out for us, had a lovely walk up and down the high street and brought a couple of Christmas presents, it was one of those spur of the moment trips, which was lovely.
Hope your all well today xx0 -
