Jonathan Ashworth asked the Chancellor in the HOC on Monday if the above benefits were going to be means tested and the Chancellor hasn't ruled it out. Very concerning. I suppose we'll jut have to wait until 17 November 2022 to see what's going to happen. :/

Many disabled people are claiming income-related benefits so was entitled to both. It completely depends on the claimants circumstances.

Disabled people haven't been left out. I claim PIP and Income Related ESA and i received the £150 and the first payment of £326, the next payment of £324 is this month between 8th and 23rd, which i'm also entitled to. I live with my daughter and she's also entitled to all 3 payments.

I am only entitled to £150 as my husband works for NHS on brade 2 salary just outside the income related thresh hold. He is warm at work infact too hot and I sit in the cold all day with a blanket over me to try and keep the chill off. We are not entitled to anything else.

Carers allowance is means tested, no? I mean your only allowed to EARN a certain amount otherwise they disallow the claim or reduce the payments.

Also you get credits towards your National Insurance so isn't Carers allowance already means tested?

Someone please explain it to me, thank you.

Carer’s Allowance has an earnings threshold. This is not what is generally described as a means tested benefit which refers that take into account full financial circumstances.

Full income details or full financial information i.e credit cards, loans, debts. A bit confusing to be honest.

Means testing means taking into account all income and capital but not details of credit cards etc. Financial circumstances as required by the relevant regulations, not full details.

If someone is not getting NI credits some other way this gives them a means of getting the credits. NI credits or paid contributions are needed to establish entitlement to future State Pension.
