Change in health - PIP call in for medical?

My renewal is not due for pip for about 2 years, but due to a worsening condition of my spine and the way it affects my ability to walk etc I have reported the change, along with medical evidence in the form of a fresh MRI report.
On speaking to an advisor at the DWP they have sent me some forms to fill in and said I would most likely have to have a fresh medical which tbh I'm not keen on as last time I had one I lost everything.
is the fresh medical likely in this circumstance?

A new assessment is usually required when a change is reported. A change of circumstances involves a complete review of your award. Now that you have started a change of circumstances you have to attend a medical if you are asked to otherwise you will lose your award.0

You should always get some expert advice before reporting any changes. A worsening of condition doesn't automatically entitle you to more points for a higher award.
