Hi, my name is TobyandDexter! Is this a normal symptom of diverticulosis?

Hi there! I have had mild diverticulosis for 9 years. However it is now classed as acute chronic diverticulosis. I started to struggle with it yesterday, having been ok for a few months. Last night I woke up in a sweat, ran to the bathroom and felt as if I would faint. So I lay on the floor till it had passed. It was very scary. Is this a normal symptom?

Welcome to the community @TobyandDexter :) Thank you for joining us!

It sounds like you had quite an unpleasant night. I can imagine that'd feel quite scary. How are you feeling this afternoon?

Have you been prescribed any medication to take by your doctor?

If you feel as though your symptoms are worsening, or you're getting new symptoms, I'd echo the others' advice to speak to your GP. They may be able to identify why this has happened, and rule out any other issues.
