How do I chase a missing COL £150 payment?

My PIP was backdated to August 2021 after a successful appeal. As I hadn’t received the £150 COL I contacted via GOV.UK who confirmed eligibility in a letter but to date payment has not yet been received. How do I progress chase the payment ??

You can't do anything else if you have already reported the missing payment except wait.Dots said:My PIP was backdated to August 2021 after a successful appeal. @Dots Here's a link to report your missing Cost of Living payment if you haven't already done this. Otherwise, as advised it is a case of being patient I'm afraid.
Just to let you know, I've amended the title of your thread to make it more visible to others with the same question. Please let us know how you get on and we'll keep our fingers crossed the money hits your bank soon.1 -
I too got a letter, 13th Oct and as of today 15th Nov still no payment. Its a joke that there's no one you can ring to chase the payment up. Hope yours gets paid soonDots said:My PIP was backdated to August 2021 after a successful appeal. It’s ridiculous ! I had had my pip backdated which is apparently the reason.0

Same here, backdated pip. I also know of a pensioner who has been on dla for years and is also still waiting, its farcical how it's being handled. It shouldn't be taking this long to get these payments out. According to dwp it would be paid by, their words, end of the week Nov 14th. Couldn't even get the date right, 14th was a Monday not the end of the weekDots said:It’s ridiculous ! I had had my pip backdated which is apparently the reason.1 -
Hi dots, any joy on your payment yet, nothing here yet. Not a report anywhere in the media about people still waiting, guess we really have been forgotten aboutDots said:It’s ridiculous ! I had had my pip backdated which is apparently the reason.0 -
There's been some news in the media about it... 900k households still waiting! DWP £650 Cost of Living payment update as around 900k households still waiting - CoventryLive (coventrytelegraph.net)
I really do wonder what is causing all these delays? There are not only delays in the COL payments and processing but across the board for Pension Credit, PIP, AA, CA and a host of other benefits the DWP provides that people now very much need.
And no matter what anybody tells me, I still think something or someone must be causing a bottleneck somewhere higher up in the DWP (And also letting the call centre and admin staff get the flak for it when the public chases the missing payments up) and I think it/they needs to be investigated.0 -
I agree someone high up is guilty of the hold up. The media report you linked refers to the second half of the £650, the main point I was making is about the £150 cost of living payment for pip claimants, there seems to be no media coverage if why many people are still waiting to receive this when it was supposed to be paid at start of October. Again someone up the chain probably causing a hold up somehowRetroRemix said:There's been some news in the media about it... 900k households still waiting! Oh sorry I thought they were the same thing.
It stresses me up so much and makes me so angry and upset when I read the stories on here and other places of people waiting for their PIP applications and COL payments, and I can't stop reading it because I also have anxiety of waiting for Carer's Allowance to be processed for 12 weeks now and reading other stories helps me know I am not alone in my anxiety (And I really hope I am helping others by letting them know they are not alone too), but it is deeply upsetting and disgusting the way disabled and people in need of help are being held up like this when they need the money the most.
Sorry for rambling on, but I can't stop thinking of it no matter what I do and other people in anxiety can't stop thinking of it either and the person higher up in the DWP needs to know how this bottleneck affects people.0 -

The media blowing things out of proportion again. People have until 23rd November to receive the £324, if they claim a DWP means tested benefit. Over 7 million payments have been made up until yesterday. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/over-seven-million-324-payments-made-to-families-by-government-in-last-week-alone

It is very little comfort to those still waiting in anxiety. Even if it was just 100 people waiting, it still would be torturous for them no matter how many others have received their payments.0

Absolutely. It’s irresponsible reporting with no regard on the additional anxiety it causes,poppy123456 said:

It's still within the timescale the Government have given and payment is not classed as late until 24th November. No one can do anything at all until that date.

Actually, yes, there is a lot more that could be done by the higher ups even now I think.
I don't mean to sound rude or disrespectful to you or anyone else Poppy, but I really do think there is a lot more that could be done, and also done differently. And I'm sorry for reading too much into the media.0 -
I agree it's still in the timescale for that payment but the issue is with the £150 pip payment.. It's well outside the dwp timescale for payments and not a mention of it in the media seems the dwp can take as long as they like, miss payment targets if they like and we can't even phone anyone to ask about itpoppy123456 said:RetroRemix said:It is very little comfort to those still waiting in anxiety. That’s the confusion that happens when people jump on threads and change the subject!0

Agreed.

I really thought it was all the same payment, I didn't mean to change the subject and I thought sharing the news article would help, with knowing that many others are waiting too with what I thought was for the same payment. Now I can see there are different COL payments. I'm sorry.0

So still no payment if the £150 I decided to ring pip. Got a very helpful girl who was able to check another system they have that looks 5 days ahead, no payment due for me on the next 5 working days but she did say to keep checking with them and they can check the other system to see if any payment due in the next 5 days. Might be helpful for anyone else to give them a ring if still waiting for payment.0
