Disabled Driver has licence revoked by DVLA

Hi all, this week I have had my drivers licence revoked/cancelled by DVLA following having had an anonymous complaint made against me by a neighbour. I have had to attend a medical examination which was intrusive after being questioned by an appointed medical practitioner for DVLA if I misused alcohol and elicit drugs. I haven’t touch alcohol for over 34 years and I have never touched elicit drugs in all my life but however the still took away not only my treasured drivers licence but they have taken away my independent from and the thought of this is really having a serious consequence to my mental health. I can appeal to the magistrate court , but there is a financial burden attached, and I just don’t have the funds available to fight this wrong decision, like most of us we all take proscribed medication for pain, depression and other conditions including our disabilities. What do I do any suggestions please.

I was maliciously reported to DVLA by a neighbour who said that I was unfit to drive as I am an alcoholic and I use cocaine and heroine. Like I said I have drank any alcohol for more than 34 years and never even tried let alone use and misused the stuff, it’s all lies , but because I have prescribed medication, such as fentanyl patches and GABAPENTIN and Tramadol to manage my pain, DVLA Have revoked my licence. I hope this
makes it easier for you to understand how much the actions of a very nasty neighbour cost me my licence and independence!0 -

I don't believe that a single person sending a report to DVLA could actually result in someone losing their driving licence - (professional) medical proof must be provided before DVLA will take such a report seriously and even then - an independant medical assessment is carried out to decide !There is clearly more to this - than you have revealed.
What happens when DVLA is informed about me?
It will conduct its own investigation using medical information from your doctor or other sources. It must determine whether you are suffering from a prescribed disability or from any other disability that makes you a danger to the public.
You will be able to participate in the process, and it’s important you do so. You may want to start obtaining good quality medical evidence.
If the investigation establishes one of these, DVLA will revoke your licence on medical grounds. If your Group 1 or Group 2 licence is revoked on medical grounds you will no longer be in a position to drive.

I read it as you've had a medical from DVLA and they decided that they will revoke your license because of the medication you take, not because of anything else. Though your neighbour may have reported you for some other reason. You can drive whilst taking medication you've mentioned above providing it doesn't impair your driving. It seems like they decided that it does impair your driving. https://www.gov.uk/drug-driving-lawI'm curious to know how you knew that a neighbour reported you?
