hi I'm wanting some honest opinions and advise. I had a compliance call Friday and when I spoke to the lady on the phone she advised me that April 2020 they received information I was working I'd only just had my daughter so I couldn't work. and that I have savings above 16000 way above this has never happened. she wants my bank statements from April 2020 till now and obviously my partners but my partner has only had a bank for 15months so will only be able to send them. I am actually in 7000 worth of debt this will show on my statements. I'm so so worried that she won't believe me and I will owe money and she will stop my money I have 3 kids my son is disabled And my partner can't work due to bad health. Will I hear back or when she receives the bank statements will I hear back do you know kind regards I'm so so worried I obviously haven't done nothing wrong but always thinking the worse and why contact me now and not 2 years ago

You will just need to send them what they've asked for, this will include statements for all your bank accounts. The debt you have will be of no interest to them them at all.If your partner has only had a bank account for 15 months then you will need to tell them this. You should hear back from them with the decision but there's no timescales how long this will take.0

Hia, I'm not sure if this helps, but when I was a single parent, I claimed wtc, and my ex had to pay child maintenance. When ex got a new partner she absolute hated me and made quite a few threats,, she didn't think I should get maintenance etc.anyway I had a compliance call, I'm sure they do compliance calls randomly but in my case, after receiving threats I am convinced she tried to get me into mischief. I had absolutely nothing to hide, and gave compliance everything they asked for. Long story short, if your honest and got nothing to hide DO NOT WORRY, the truth always wins xx1

thanks for your response I have been in contact with the lady today as its been playing on my mind I am always honest when it comes to things like this all I get is my sons disability money and maintenance money but that says there dad's name on it. I've told her if it states a curtain name it's for my kids. I sent all on Monday but now royal mail are on strike just my luck she said she won't stop my money and she will look at statments and get back to me. but I hate people seeing your details on things but suppose as long as she looks and see I definitely don't have savings I will be fine0

Child maintenance is disregarded for all means tested benefits.

Yes child maintenance is definately separate,, you sound like you are honest and there shouldn't be anything to worry about, 😁,,, but I do understand how horrible it is,, I think they are just doing their job, because unfortunately there are people out there that fraudulently take money that they know isn't rightly theirs 😑,, please don't worry x0
